The must-see street art neighborhoods in Paris

The 13th Arrondissement: The Open-Air Museum of Monumental Frescoes

This is the epicenter of authorized, monumental street art in Paris, with over 160 documented frescoes.

  • Boulevard Vincent Auriol / Rue Jeanne d'Arc: The main axis where giant and spectacular frescoes are concentrated, the result of a partnership between the City Hall and the Itinerrance Gallery. Here you can admire colossal works by international artists such as Shepard Fairey ("Liberté, Égalité, Fraternité") or striking portraits like Turncoat by D*Face.
  • Spot 13: An open-air, often free and ephemeral gallery, located beneath the T3a tram (Allée Paris-Ivry). A spot that attracts enthusiasts of the scene.
  • La Butte-aux-Cailles: This bucolic, village-like neighborhood contrasts with the large boulevard frescoes. Here you will find more poetic works, stencils, graffiti, and collages by renowned artists such as Miss. Tic and Jef Aérosol scattered throughout its cobblestone streets.

Eastern Paris: Ephemeral, Lively, and Committed

These neighborhoods offer street art that is constantly changing, often more spontaneous and politically engaged.

  • Belleville (11th and 20th)
    • Rue Denoyez: The most famous street in the neighborhood, known for its colorful walls where creation is freely expressed and constantly renewed.
    • Parc de Belleville: Urban art unfolds on the walls and pillars, with works by Seth, Kenor, or El Pez.
  • Oberkampf (11th)
    • Le M.U.R d'Oberkampf: An institutional spot where a new artist comes to paint an ephemeral work every 15 days. A must-see location for those passionate about novelty.
  • Ménilmontant (20th)
    • Rue de Ménilmontant / Rue des Maronites / Rue de l'Ermitage: A neighborhood rich in graffiti and drawings, particularly when the streets empty out.

The Center and the Left Bank

  • Le Marais (4th)
    • The neighborhood richest in Invaders (small mosaics) with about sixty "invaders" identified. You can also find varied works (graffiti, frescoes) in streets like Rue Vieille du Temple or Rue des Rosiers.
  • Canal Saint-Martin / Canal de l'Ourcq (10th and 19th)
    • Along the Canal Saint-Denis, you can discover calligraphic frescoes and poetic works by artists like Tarek Benaoum or Seth.
