Located in the heart of the 10th arrondissement (28 Boulevard de Bonne Nouvelle), the Chocolate Museum – Choco-Story Paris is a true ode to indulgence and history. This unique museum invites visitors, young and old, on a fascinating journey of over 4,000 years, tracing the epic story of cocoa from its Pre-Columbian origins to its current place in world gastronomy.

A Historical and Cultural Journey

The museum's tour is designed as a time machine. It begins with the pre-Olmec and Mayan civilizations, for whom cocoa was a precious commodity, used as currency and reserved for elites for sacred rituals (we learn, for example, that a rabbit cost 10 cocoa beans!). The journey continues with the arrival of cocoa in Europe, particularly in Spain, where it was transformed into a luxury drink, before conquering all the royal courts.

The exhibition presents a rich collection of objects, artifacts, dioramas, and interactive displays that detail the evolution of techniques for cultivating, processing, and consuming chocolate throughout the centuries.

Sensory and Creative Experiences

The major attraction of Choco-Story lies in its playful and multi-sensory approach.

• Unlimited Tastings: The visit is punctuated by tasting points, allowing you to savor different varieties of cocoa and premium chocolates (dark, milk, praline, ganache), including historical recipes like Aztec or Spanish hot chocolate.
• Demonstrations and Workshops: Demonstrations are regularly organized, often virtual, featuring Meilleurs Ouvriers de France (MOF - Best Craftsmen of France) who share the secrets of chocolate making.

To go further, practical workshops are offered (by reservation) where you can put on an apron, learn dipping and molding techniques, and create your own personalized chocolates that you take home (about 250-300g).

• Artworks: You can also admire monumental sculptures made entirely of chocolate, testifying to the artistic expertise of the master chocolatiers.

Practical Information

The museum is open every day from 10 am to 6 pm. The visit generally lasts between 1 hour and 1 hour 30 minutes. Entrance fees (self-guided tour) start around €18 for adults and €10.80 for children (3-11 years old), with packages that include a hot chocolate or a workshop. For families, a game booklet and a treasure hunt (with Playmobil) are offered to children.
